Even before the emergence of Covid-19, mental illness was one of Europe’s most important public health challenges. It’s estimated that around a quarter of the European population regularly experiences depression or anxiety. And the ongoing pandemic is intensifying many of those issues.
We partnered with Studio Sonder and AXA’s European teams to create one of the first reports of its kind, a pan-European snapshot of mental health throughout one of Europe’s biggest ever crises.
Nearly 6,000 people were surveyed across the continent. The research explored the impact of the pandemic, and the guidance that followed. AXA wanted to understand the fears, challenges and triumphs that have arisen through Covid-19, with contributions from some of the world’s leading experts on how to better support people who experience mental health problems, as well as how to tackle some of the root causes head-on.
